Water-based dispersion resins refer to a group of polymer products that are produced by emulsion method in aqueous environment. In the production process of this category of products, the use of surfactants to stabilize the emulsion is the main key.
The history of the development of water-based resins dates back to around 1960 in the United States.
The need to develop and produce water-based polymers can be seen as the growing need for products containing minimal volatile organic solvents (VOC), safety and non-flammability, and being environmentally friendly. Water-based polymers are produced and supplied in four categories: vinyl acetate homopolymer, vinyl acetate copolymer, styrene acrylic and pure acrylic in the Good Adhesive Chemical Manufacturing Company.
